Allstar Cheerleading A.K.A "Competitive Cheer". The sport of Allstar Cheerleading has grown immensely in the last 20 years. In the 80's and early 90's teams were typically formed of athletes who were interested in improving their skills so they would have a better chance of making their school cheer team. As the sport grew, more and more athletes and their parents viewed Allstar Cheerleading as a activity in itself. As stronger and stronger the athletes became they began to recognize that Allstars provided them with a way to focus more on team work and athleticism and less on pom pons and decorating lockers. The sport then began to separate itself from the traditional stereotypes. These teams do not cheer for someone else, they cheer for them self and others cheer for them!
Teams and athletes in All-Star Cheerleading now focus on gymnastics and acrobatic moves. The sport of today is a combination of gymnastics, acrobatics, athletic dance, and many elements unique to Allstar. Today's Allstar athlete can learn exciting skills in a fun, safe environment. Allstar teams are typically comprised of 15-35 athletes with their season starting in April and ending in April. The routines are 2 1/2 minutes in length with elements of tumbling, stunts, dance, jumps and other skills that are set to music. At competitions, teams are divided by age and ability levels 1-5. The routines are judged by their level of difficulty, precision, creativity, and entertainment value.
Carolina Crossfire was formed in 2007. Although our teams encompass a wide variety of ages and levels, they are designed to be highly competitive within their divisions. We are very proud of our athletes and look forward to growing our program.
