However, with this being said we are PROUD TO CALL FLIP CITY HOME and all squad members are required to take one tumbling class per week from Flip City.

About FLip City Gymnastics and Cheer (Formerly The Young Gymnast) and their new owners

Flip City Gymnastics and Cheer is owned and operated by Dick and April Thomas.  They are the proud new gym owners and are no strangers to the gymnastics world.  They have been running a successful all round Kids Fitness Center for 17 years in Orangeburg, SC known as AGC Gymnastics Plus.  AGC is widely known for its top notch programs which include preschool gymnastics, recreational gymnastics (boys and girls) and a competitive gymnastics program.  They are focused on continuing what Coach Kevin (former owner) has worked so hard for and feel that God has brought them together to keep Flip City (formerly The Young Gymnast) the top preschool and recreational program in the area.

 

April Thomas knows nothing other than being in the gym.  She has been doing gymnastics since the young age of 6 and was a high level State and Regional gymnast in South Carolina.  She has been on the South Carolina State Board of Gymnastics for 10 years, been doing choreography for the past 9 years for high level gymnastics routines, and also holds the AFFA Certification in Children's Fitness and Nutrition.  Along with gymnastics, she has worked with the NCAA cheerleaders to help enhance their tumbling and fitness level.

 

Dick Thomas is a graduate of Clemson University and was a rugby player at Clemson.  He began his gymnastics career in 1990 in Orangeburg.  He was the head coach for AGC team and taught recreational gymnastics and cheerleading.  Dick was also asked to be on staff at numerous camps throughout South Carolina. 

 

Dick and April have teamed up together and throughout their coaching career produced numerous State, Regional, and Nationally ranked gymnasts.  Both Dick and April are USAG Safety Certified.
